17,904 Candidates Jostle for AAUA 4,000 Admission Slots


No fewer than 17,904 school certificate holders
participated in the Adekunle Ajasin University,
Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) just concluded post
UTME screening exercise with capacity to admit
only 4,000 students.
A total of 17, 904 candidates are jostling for
4,000 slots in the 2015 post-Unified Tertiary
Matriculation Examination (UTME) screening of
the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko,
Ondo State, Prof. Oluyemisi Adebowale, the
varsity’s Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), has
said.
Adebowale gave the revelation while speaking
with journalists on the ongoing computer-based
test, which started on Monday, August 10, and
will end on Tuesday August 18, 2015 that figure
represented only those who scored 180 points
and above in the UTME and chose University of
Jos as their first choice.

Procedure .
She said, “Over 22,000 candidates picked AAUA
through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation
Board. And 17, 904 candidates qualified for
PUTME and we are going to admit below 4,000.”
While reiterating that AAUA’s extant merit-driven
admission policy subsists, the DVC warned the
candidates to be wary of impostors that might
want to extort money and other valuables from
them as inducements for admission.
She explained, “At the end of the test, we will
collate all the results and go to the drawing
board to decide the cut-off mark. Any candidate
whose score falls within the required mark is
automatically admitted. Candidates don’t need to
know anybody. Our admission at AAUA is still
absolutely merit-driven.”
