Apply for FUTO Postgraduate Admission Form is Out – 2015/16

postgraduate admission application form for the
2015/2015 academic session is out.
The Postgraduate School, Federal University of
Technology, Owerri (FUTO) invites applications
from suitably qualified candidates for
consideration for admission into the under –
listed Postgraduate Diploma, Masters and
Doctorate Degree programmes for the 2015/2016
session.
Any interested candidate should pay a non-
refundable fee of eleven thousand naira only
(N11,000.00) only at any First Bank Branch in
the country using the e-Tranzact platform and
then complete the online application at
apply.futo.edu.ng , The N11,000 application fee is
exclusive of switch fee.
FUTO Postgraduate Admission Requirements.
All candidates applying for any of the following
postgraduate programmes must satisfy the basic
matriculation requirements including English
Language and Mathematics as required by the
Department.
1. PGD
Candidates applying for the Postgraduate
Diploma (PGD) programme must possess any of
the following:
1. Higher National Diploma (HND) Upper Credit and
above.
2. Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant discipline from
FUTO or any other recognized university with at
least a Third Class Honours.
3. A good Bachelor’s Degree with at least a Second
Class Honours in other related disciplines.
2. M.Sc, M.Eng, MPH
Candidates applying for the M.Sc programme
must possess any of the following:
i. A first degree with at least a second class
honours qualification with a minimum of 3.00
CGPA on a 5 Point Scale in the related area from
FUTO or from any other recognized University.
ii. A Bachelors degree from a recognized
university plus a PGD of not less than 3.50CGPA
on a 5 Point Scale in the relevant area.
3. MBA
Candidates applying for the MBA programme
must possess any of the following:
i. A good honours degree in the area of Science/
Technology, Engineering and Management
Technology from FUTO or from any other
recognized university.
ii. Graduates with first degree from a recognized
university and holders of Higher National Diploma
(HND) with Postgraduate Diploma in the relevant
area may apply for the MBA programme.
4. Ph.D
Candidates applying for the Ph.D programme
must possess:
i) A Master’s degree with a CGPA of 4.00 on a
5.00 point scale or 3.0 on a 4.0 point scale or its
equivalent in the relevant area from FUTO or any
other recognized university.
Duration of FUTO Postgraduate Programmes.
i) Ph.D Programmes: A minimum of six
semesters and a maximum of ten semesters for
full-time and minimum of eight semesters and a
maximum of fourteen semesters for part-time
students
ii) M.Sc, M.Eng, MPH and MBA Programmes:
Minimum of three (3) semesters and maximum
of six (6) semesters for full-time and minimum of
four (4) semesters and maximum of eight (8)
semesters for part-time students
iii) PGD Programmes: Minimum of two (2)
semesters and maximum of four (4) semesters
for full-time and Minimum of four (4) semesters
and maximum of six (6) semesters for part-time
students.
How to Apply for FUTO Postgraduate
Programmes.
Candidates are advised to apply on line following
the procedure given below:
Step 1: Go to any branch of First Bank Plc and
pay a non-refundable fee of Eleven thousand
Naira (N11,000.00) for FUTO PGS OR CCE
application depending on your interest.
You will be given an e-Tranzact receipt which
should contain a Confirmation Order and Receipt
Number. (Ensure that you do NOT lose this
information).
Step 2: Log on to the application portal using
“apply.futo.edu.ng”
Step 3: Click on the “New Application” link
(Remember to download the Referee Report and
the Transcript Request forms on the Login page)
Step 4: Select the program of your choice, enter
the confirmation order and receipt number on
the slip you got from the bank.
Step 5: Click on the “Start” button
Step 6: Fill the application form, then click
“Continue”.
N.B: Ensure you upload your passport and fill all
the required fields on the application form
correctly
Step 7: Fill your O’level results correctly, then
click “Save”
Step 8: When you have filled the application form
correctly, to proceed click “Print Application
Form”
N.B: If you click “Print Application Form”, you
will not be able to edit your application form, to
preview your application form and do the
necessary corrections, click “Back”
Documents to Submit for FUTO Postgraduate
Programmes.
Candidates should forward the following relevant
documents in support of their application to the
Deputy Registrar/Secretary, Postgraduate School,
Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo
State.
1. Two photocopies of University degree certificates
2. Two photocopies of NYSC discharge certificate
3. Two photocopies of “O” Level Result
4. Letters from 3 Referees as indicated in the Form
5. Two hard copies of the on-line application
Submission of Academic Transcripts to FUTO
All applicants must forward their transcripts to
reach The Secretary, Postgraduate School,
Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo
State, Nigeria, not later than November 30, 2015.
Please note that any application without
Transcript will not be considered for admission.
